Up and down

Today was a much more difficult day for our little Jamison. Jamison was having some breathing episodes throughout the day and looked lethargic. Luckily the nurse was on top of things and decided to run some blood tests. They found his white blood cell count was high and his red blood cell bands were high. These are typical signs of an infection. I got a call at work saying they were going to do a spinal tap so they could get a culture. I rushed up to the hospital to be with him. He looked very worn out. They have him on an antibiotic and put him back on the oxygen to help him out.

I went back over tonight to be with him and he seemed to be doing much better. He was steady and looked comfortable. The doctors and nurses say that this is not to worrisome and that he should be just fine once the antibiotics start to get in his system.

The good news is he continues to gain weight and is up to 4lb 1oz. We love this little guy so much and hate to see him have tough days but are so proud of him!

  3. I check everyday for updates, and think abt u guys everyday. I've never met him, but I already love him. Infections are so hard to watch, but I am so impressed with the two of you and your optimism. Everyone knows Jamison lucked out in the parent department. I'll be praying hard for him to get through this infection (he's a fighter by nature due to you guys ;-)).
